Vacancies are distributed across 39 departments as follows. UR = Unreserved, OBC-NCL = Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), SC = Scheduled Caste, ST = Scheduled Tribe, EWS = Economically Weaker Sections. An additional 5% PwD reservation applies on a horizontal basis as per Government rules.

As per EWS guidelines, if an EWS-earmarked vacancy cannot be filled due to the unavailability of an EWS candidate, it will not be carried forward as a backlog; other category candidates may be provisionally allowed to apply for such posts, subject to being considered as UR candidates if the post remains otherwise unfilled.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A Postgraduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB/MDS) from a recognized University/Institute is required. Applicants holding DNB in broad specialties as their essential qualifying education must provide documentary evidence of its equivalence with MD/MS. For the Department of Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank specifically, the qualification required is MD (Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank) or DNB (Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank).

Date of Eligibility Determination

Eligibility with regard to age, educational qualification, and experience will be determined as on the date the candidate appears in the interview/written test examination.

Salary

Selected Senior Residents will be placed at Level 11 of the Pay Matrix, with an entry pay of ₹67,700 per month, plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and other usual allowances as admissible.

Selection Process

Selection is through an Interview/Written Test Examination conducted department-wise. The date of the interview will be notified later on the AIIMS Deoghar website, and candidates are advised to check the website regularly. Eligible candidates must report to the Registrar Office, Administrative Block, 4th Floor, AIIMS Deoghar on the notified interview date with original documents, photocopies of relevant documents, and one passport-size colour photograph. No TA/DA is admissible for appearing at the interview.

Required Documents

Candidates must send one set of self-attested photocopies of the following documents along with the offline application form, Demand Draft, and a passport-size colour photograph pasted on the form:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • SC/ST/EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/OPH certificate from the competent authority, if applicable (OBC certificate must be the latest, issued for FY 2026-27, not older than one year as on the last date of application, and the candidate’s sub-caste must match the Central List of OBC; EWS/OBC certificates issued between 01.04.2026 and the last date of application will be considered valid)
  • MBBS mark sheets and degree certificate

Important Instructions

  • Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
  • If any information or declaration given by a candidate is found false, or relevant information is willfully suppressed, the candidate is liable to removal from service and further action as deemed fit by the Competent Authority.
  • Persons with disability must produce the original physically handicapped certificate (with degree of disability), issued by a Medical Board constituted by the Central or State Government and countersigned by the Medical Superintendent, at the time of interview.
  • The appointment is full-time, and private practice of any kind is prohibited. Candidates may work in shifts and can be posted anywhere in the Institute at the discretion of the MS/Dean/Director.
  • Selected candidates must abide by the Institute’s rules of conduct and discipline. All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Jharkhand High Court.
  • Engagement will be as per the terms and conditions of the Central Residency Scheme and regulated under CCS (Temporary Service) Rules. The appointment does not confer any right to claim permanent absorption in the Institute.
  • A candidate who joins and later leaves, resigns, or is terminated before completing the tenure must give one month’s prior notice, or deposit pay and allowances in lieu of the notice period shortfall.
