NSU Imphal Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Assistant Professor (Sports Coaching – Athletics/Shooting/Weightlifting/Badminton)

  • A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Sports Coaching/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university, OR
  • A Master’s Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) as per NCTE and UGC norms, or M.Sc. (Sports Sciences), Master in Sports Science (MSS), or Master in Physical Education and Sports (M.P.E.S.) as per UGC norms, with not less than 55% marks, along with a Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching in the respective discipline (Athletics/Shooting/Weightlifting/Badminton) from a recognized Sports Institute, Indian University, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited foreign university.

Note: NET/SLET/SET is not required for the Sports Coaching discipline, as these eligibility tests are not conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or any other UGC-recognized agency for this discipline.

Desirable: Experience in teaching, training, or coaching sportspersons at National-level or higher competitions; evidence of participation in national/international competitions, coaching, athlete development programmes, sports performance projects, or sports science support services.

Assistant Professor (Physical Education)

  • A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in Physical Education or an allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, OR must have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 (and their amendments), in which case NET is exempted.

Assistant Professor (Sports Psychology) & Assistant Professor (Sports Nutrition)

  • A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Must have cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar UGC-accredited test like SLET/SET, OR must have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree as per UGC Regulations, 2009 or 2016 (and amendments), in which case NET/SLET/SET is exempted.

Note: NET/SLET/SET is also not required for Master’s programmes in disciplines for which these tests are not conducted by UGC, CSIR, or a similar UGC-accredited body.

Junior Engineer (Civil)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant field from a recognized Institute/University with one year of relevant experience, OR
  • Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field with three years’ experience in the relevant field in CPWD/State PWD or similar organized services/statutory or autonomous organizations/Central or State Universities/autonomous institutions, or a reputed private construction company with an annual turnover of at least Rs. 200 Crores or more.

Public Relations Officer

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade B in the UGC 7-point scale in Journalism and Mass Communication from a recognized University/Institute.
  • At least five years’ experience in the editorial department/centre of any Central/State Govt. department, PSU, Central/State Educational Institutions, an established English/regional Newspaper accredited with ABC, National News Agencies, Radio or Television, Film Media, or a reputed advertising agency, with excellent command of speaking in English, Hindi, and the Regional Language.
  • Desirable: Good working knowledge of computer applications.
