What Are PET and DME?
- PET (Physical Efficiency Test): A physical fitness test conducted in two stages for Sub Officer and Fireman A posts.
- Stage 1 PET: 1500-metre run for male candidates and 800-metre run for female candidates.
- Stage 2 PET: Only candidates who qualify Stage 1 proceed to Stage 2, which covers four events — long jump, rope climbing, 100-metre run, and carrying a human dummy using a fireman’s lift.
- DME (Detailed Medical Examination): Conducted only for candidates who qualify both Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the PET.
