HPPSC Assistant Professor 2026 – Subject-Wise Vacancies (369 Posts)

The 369 posts are spread unevenly across 22 subjects, with English (39 posts) carrying the largest share, followed by Chemistry and Hindi (34 posts each), while Dance and Tabla have only 2 posts each. All posts, regardless of subject, carry the same Rs. 35,000/- monthly pay.

Category-Wise Reservation

Every subject’s vacancies are further split into UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS, with sub-quotas for Ex-Servicemen, Ward of Freedom Fighters, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities wherever applicable. Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. holders are exempt from NET/SLET/SET, provided the Ph.D. was awarded in regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, included an open viva-voce, and is backed by at least two published papers (one refereed) plus two conference presentations.
• Candidates who qualified SET-2026 are also eligible; the window will reopen for them if the SET-2026 result comes after the regular closing date.

Selection Process

Salary
