Important Changes in SSC CGL 2026
Aspirants must note the following updates to the 2026 examination structure:

Sectional Timing: Tier-1 now enforces strict sectional time limits. You must complete each section (English, General Awareness, Reasoning, Quant) within the allotted time; you cannot navigate back to previous sections.

AAO Post Inclusion: The Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) and Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO) posts under C&AG have been reintroduced for this cycle.
Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Candidates in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply, provided their final results are declared before the cut-off date specified in the notification.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 32 years. Standard age relaxations are applicable for OBC (+3 years), SC/ST (+5 years), and PwBD categories.

Step-by-Step Application Procedure
Avoid submission errors by following this workflow:

One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit
ssc.gov.in. All candidates must complete the new OTR process to obtain a unique Registration ID. If you previously registered on the old SSC portal, you must re-register on the new platform. -
Upload Documents: Log in to your Candidate Dashboard. Upload a live photograph (taken with a plain background) and your scanned signature in the specified dimensions.

Post Preferences: Enter your educational qualifications and select your post preferences based on your age and physical eligibility.

Fee Payment: Complete the ₹100 application fee via digital payment modes (UPI/Net Banking).

Final Printout: Download and save the final PDF of the application form. This will be mandatory for the Document Verification (DV) round later.
Selection Process
The selection is conducted in three distinct stages:

Tier-1 (CBT): 100 questions (200 marks). Primarily qualifying in nature.

Tier-2 (CBT + Skill Test): The merit-determining stage. Includes sections on Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and a mandatory Data Entry Speed Test (DEST).
