Within the 80 total posts, seats are also earmarked for Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 1 post each under (a) Blindness and low vision, (b) Deaf and hard of hearing, and (c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy. A PwD applicant must be a “person with benchmark disability,” with not less than 40% of a specified disability, as certified by the certifying authority.

Manipur SSC Special Primary Teacher Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must be able to speak Manipuri or any of the Tribal dialects of Manipur.
  • The candidate must be a permanent resident of Manipur. A candidate whose parent, or any ancestor in their direct lineage, is a permanent resident of the State is also eligible, provided proper documentary proof is furnished.

Manipur SSC Special Primary Teacher Educational Qualification

Essential:

  1. 10+2 (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks from a recognized University/Board; or 10+2 (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks from a recognized University/Institution/Board, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
  2. D.Ed. in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute, with a valid RCI CRR number; or D.El.Ed. with a recognized qualification (Certificate/Diploma) through an RCI-approved institution for in-service/pre-service general teachers, equivalent to D.Ed. in Special Education, with a valid RCI CRR number.
  3. 6 months of training in teaching in the cross-disability area of inclusive education. If the proposed programme is not available, this requirement may be dropped, provided the candidate compulsorily undergoes this training as soon as it is conducted.
  4. Passed the Teacher Eligibility Test-1 (TET-1) conducted by the State Government or any other agency approved by NCTE.

  • Upper age limit is relaxable for Government servants appointed under the Government of Manipur, to the extent of their continuous service in the post/service.
  • 5 years’ relaxation for SC/ST candidates; 3 years’ relaxation for OBC candidates.
  • A Government servant belonging to SC/ST gets the relaxation admissible to a Government servant, in addition to the relaxation admissible to SC/ST candidates.
  • Age relaxation is applicable to different categories of candidates as per Government Orders/OMs issued from time to time.

Documents Required for Manipur SSC Special Primary Teacher Recruitment

  • Original documents proving educational qualification, experience, age, community/category, and disability (where applicable), to be produced when called for by the Commission.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned Department/Authority – mandatory for all candidates already in service, other than casual or muster-roll employees.

Manipur SSC Special Primary Teacher e-Admission Certificate

Eligible candidates will be issued an e-Admission Certificate, downloadable from the MSSC website; the schedule for downloading will be notified separately. No admission certificate will be issued from the MSSC office or sent by post, and no candidate will be admitted to the exam venue without it. Issuance of an e-Admission Certificate does not imply that a candidate’s candidature has been finally cleared, or that the entries made by the candidate have been accepted as true and correct – the Commission’s decision on eligibility for admission is final.

  • All questions are of Class XII level. General Knowledge questions assess the candidate’s knowledge of politics, history, geography, literature, sports, arts, culture, and special education.
  • The exam is conducted through the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode; exam venues will be mentioned in the e-admit card.
  • Questions are of MCQ type, carrying 1 mark each, with no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Duration of the exam is 75 minutes. For PwD candidates using a scribe, 20 minutes’ extra time per hour is provided, making the total duration 100 minutes.
