Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized University.

General Eligibility Conditions

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • A male candidate with more than one living wife, or a female candidate married to a person who already has another wife, is not eligible for appointment without prior approval from the Government.
  • Candidates not claiming benchmark disability relaxation must be mentally and physically fit, free from any physical defect likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties.
  • Persons permanently debarred from any examination or recruitment conducted by the Central/State Public Service Commission, Karnataka Examinations Authority, or any University are not eligible.
  • Persons convicted for an offence involving moral turpitude, or temporarily debarred/disqualified from examinations, are not eligible until the competent authority holds them eligible.

KSLSA Section Officer 2026 Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be placed on the pay scale of ₹69,250 – 1650 – 74,200 – 1900 – 85,600 – 2300 – 99,400 – 2700 – 1,15,600 – 3100 – 1,34,200, applicable to the post of Section Officer under Karnataka Civil Services norms. Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 2 years, or such extended period as may apply.

Caste and other reservation certificates obtained after the last date of the online application will not be considered. Original documents must be produced at the time of Interview/Verification; failure to do so will result in cancellation of the claimed reservation, and the candidature will be considered only under the General Merit category, if otherwise eligible.

KSLSA Section Officer Recruitment 2026: Important Instructions

  • Merely attending the Competitive Examination/Interview does not confer any right to appointment; KSLSA must be satisfied that the candidate is suitable in all respects.
  • Selected candidates will be posted in the office of KSLSA or any of the District Legal Services Authorities in the state.
  • Any attempt by a candidate to influence the selection process will render them ineligible for selection.
  • In the event of any inconsistency between the Kannada and English versions of the notification, the English version will prevail.
  • If, at any stage of recruitment or after appointment, information furnished by the candidate is found false, or eligibility criteria are not met, or material facts are suppressed/twisted, the candidature/selection/appointment will stand cancelled.
  • Candidates furnishing false or incorrect information are liable for disqualification as well as criminal prosecution.
