BBMB Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
For ITI Trade Apprentices
- Passed 10th class examination with minimum 40% marks from a recognized board.
- Must hold a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/State Council for Vocational Training.
- Must have completed the relevant ITI course.
- Aadhaar Card is compulsory.
For Graduate Apprentices
- Completed Graduation (or equivalent) in the concerned stream with minimum 40% marks from a recognized institute.
- Aadhaar Card is compulsory.
For Diploma Apprentices
- Completed Diploma with minimum 40% marks from a recognized institute.
- Aadhaar Card is compulsory.
Note: There is no interview and no written exam for this recruitment.
BBMB Apprentice Age Limit

BBMB Apprentice Selection Process
Eligible candidates are selected from the NAPS/NATS apprenticeship portal database. A merit list is prepared for all applicants based on percentage of marks, with category-specific weightage as below.

- If these reserved seats remain unfilled, they go to candidates with a residency certificate of the concerned State.
- Remaining seats are filled through open merit.
- Project areas covered: Bhakra & Nangal Dam Project – Ropar, Bilaspur, and Una.
- In case two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate is preferred.
- If date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is considered first.
BBMB Apprentice Reservation
Reservation will be as per the Apprentice Act, 1961, and its amendments from time to time.

How to Apply for BBMB Apprentice Recruitment 2026
- ITI trade candidates should apply online through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
- Graduate, Degree, and Diploma candidates should apply online through the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in.
- Applications must be submitted online between 14 July 2026 and 10 August 2026.
- No other mode of application will be accepted.
Important Instructions
- Candidates whose results are still awaited on the last date of receipt of applications, for the qualifying examinations mentioned in the eligibility criteria, will not be considered.
- Selection and deployment of apprentices will be subject to detailed provisions of the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, and its time-to-time amendments.
- Results will be uploaded on the BBMB website through the Office of the System Software Manager, BBMB, Chandigarh.
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training (completed or ongoing) under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, in any other establishment are not eligible to apply.
- Selected candidates will be registered under the NAPS/NATS Portal. Candidates already registered and trained under these schemes will not be entertained and need not apply.
- Incomplete applications, in any manner, will be rejected without assigning any reason.
- The date and time for document verification will be decided by the office. Candidates found absent at the time of verification will have their application rejected without assigning any reason.
