A total of 26 posts of Section Officer, HPF&AS have been advertised under the Treasuries, Accounts and Lotteries (Finance and Accounts) Section. The category-wise breakup is as follows:

HPSC Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

HPSC Recruitment 2026 for Section Officer, HPF&AS is open exclusively to serving employees of the Himachal Pradesh Government and its associated bodies. Applicants must meet the educational qualification, service, and age criteria described below as on the closing date of application.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of regular service in a H.P. Government Department, Board, Corporation, Autonomous Body, University, or Co-operative Bank of the State of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Desirable: knowledge of the customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 45 years
  • Age is reckoned as on 01 January 2026.

HPSC Recruitment 2026 – Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Band Level-13, with a pay scale ranging from Rs. 46,000 to Rs. 1,46,500, in addition to allowances admissible as per H.P. Government rules.

HPSC Recruitment 2026 – Application Fee

HPSC Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

The HPSC Section Officer HPF&AS selection process consists of two stages:

1. Preliminary Entrance Examination

  • 120 objective-type multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each.
  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Subjects: English & Hindi (40 questions), Omnibus Accounts (40 questions), FRSR & HPFR 2009 (40 questions).
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Candidates qualifying will be shortlisted for the Main Examination in a ratio of 10 times the number of vacancies.

2. Main (Entrance) Examination

  • Minimum pass marks: 40% in each paper and 45% in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
  • Final merit is prepared strictly on the basis of marks obtained, subject to reservation policy.
  • Selected candidates undergo pre-induction training at MSHIPA, followed by HPF&AS Part-I and Part-II examinations.

HPSC Recruitment 2026 – Required Documents

Candidates must upload the following documents on the OTRS portal:

  1. Matriculation certificate (for age proof)
  2. Bachelor’s Degree certificate / mark sheets of all years / consolidated mark sheet or provisional degree
  3. Valid category certificate(s), if applicable (SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, Ward of Ex-Servicemen, WFF, Persons with Disabilities, etc.)
  4. Bonafide Himachali Certificate (for reserved category candidates)
  5. Service Certificate and undertaking for chances already availed (Annexure-II and Annexure-III)
  6. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer, Annexure-IV (mandatory for admission to the Main Examination)

How to Apply Online for HPSC Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official HPPSC website: hppsc.hp.gov.in
  2. Click on the “Apply Online” link on the homepage.
  3. Select “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations” and complete New Registration, if not already registered.
  4. Fill in the application form and upload all required documents as per the checklist.
  5. Pay the examination fee of Rs. 600 online through the prescribed payment modes.
  6. Review the declaration regarding document legibility and submit the application.
  7. Save and download a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

Note: No changes are permitted after final submission, except for a change of category as per Commission rules. Applications without the required fee, photograph, or signature will be rejected outright.

HPSC Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions

  • Reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC) on parental basis apply only to bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.
  • No candidate will be admitted to the Main Examination without submitting Annexure-I, II, III, and IV in complete form.
  • An NOC from the current employer is mandatory before appearing for the Main Examination; contract/casual/adhoc/daily-rated/work-charged employees are exempt from this requirement.
  • Re-checking or re-evaluation of OMR sheets or answer books is not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Entry to the examination venue closes 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • No employee is allowed more than 5 chances to appear in the entrance examination.
  • Selected trainees must execute a service bond of Rs. 5,00,000 to serve the Government for a minimum of 5 years after training.
  • All examinations are governed by the Himachal Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2025.
  • Disputes, if any, are subject to the jurisdiction of courts at Shimla.
