Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) is a company jointly promoted by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) along with its Concessionaires and Financial Institutions, incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956. IHMCL was established to implement and manage an efficient Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system across national highways and to deploy Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for better highway management and traffic conditions. IHMCL Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a combination of any of the above engineering branches from a recognized University/Institute.
Candidates who are in the final year of their Engineering Degree programme and are yet to receive their final results may also apply, provided they fulfil all other eligibility criteria. Such candidates must submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination in the form of a Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate issued by the University/Institute by 31 August 2026, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
Recruitment Criteria
Recruitment is by direct recruitment through a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score in Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), Electronics and Communications Engineering (EC), or Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA) discipline.
Age Limit
The age of applicants must not be less than 21 years and not exceeding 30 years as on the last date of receipt of online applications. The crucial date for determining eligibility is the last date prescribed for receipt of online applications.

All the above concessions are concurrent – if a candidate is eligible for more than one concession, only the concession with the highest permissible limit will be granted. Age relaxation for ex-servicemen is subject to the conditions that continuous service rendered is not less than six months after attestation, and the resultant age after deduction does not exceed the prescribed age limit by more than three years, as per DoPT OM No. 15012/2/2010-Estt.(D) dated 27 March 2012.
IHMCL Recruitment 2026: Salary / Pay Scale
The post of Systems Engineer (ITS) carries an E-2 Grade pay scale of Rs. 50,000 – Rs. 1,60,000 under the IDA pattern. The indicative monthly salary at the starting Basic Pay of ₹50,000 in E-2 IDA Grade would be approximately ₹1,00,000, which includes Dearness Allowance, Cafeteria Allowance, and House Rent Allowance in X Class Cities. This indicative figure excludes statutory deductions such as EPF contribution and Income Tax.

IHMCL Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
Selection for the post of Systems Engineer (ITS) is based on the following criteria:
- Merit is determined on the basis of the valid GATE Score of the year 2025.
- IHMCL reserves the right to invite candidates for interview as per a cut-off for the respective category, to be decided subsequently by IHMCL.
- If the number of applications received is large, IHMCL will adopt a shortlisting criterion to restrict the number of candidates called for interaction/interview to a reasonable number, by a method decided by the Selection Committee.
- For the final merit list, if two or more candidates in the same category have equal scores/marks, the candidate older in age will be placed higher in the merit list.
Note: Candidates must enter their GATE Score as mentioned in the official GATE 2025 Scorecard (range: 0 to 1000) while applying.
IHMCL Recruitment 2026: Reservation Guidelines
- Reservation benefit under community categories is available only if the candidate’s caste is included in the list of reserved communities issued by the Central Government.
- OBC candidates must submit an OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued during the year 2026-2027, clearly indicating that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer.
- EWS candidates must meet the criteria issued by the Central Government and possess an Income & Asset Certificate based on income for Financial Year 2025-2026, issued after 1 April 2026.
- Candidates seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS must submit a certificate in the prescribed proforma only, from the designated authority, with the caste/community name and spelling exactly matching the central government’s notified lists.
- No change in the community status already indicated in the online application will be allowed.
- Candidates who fail to submit valid Caste/Category certificates will not be considered for reservation; if otherwise eligible under Unreserved (UR) criteria, their candidature will be considered against the UR vacancy only.
- SC/ST/Minority Community/Women/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are encouraged to apply.

- Visit the official IHMCL website: http://www.ihmcl.co.in (best viewed on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox).
- Click on the “Careers” tab, then “New Openings”.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and fill up the application form with the requisite information.
- Upload all required documents: photograph, signature, Class X certificate, caste/category certificate (if applicable), Engineering degree passing certificate, and GATE Score Card 2025.
- Click “Next” to preview the application.
- Use the “Edit” option if any correction is needed, or click the final “Submit” button once satisfied.

IHMCL Recruitment 2026: Important Instructions
- The posts carry all-India service liability; only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.
- Candidates are advised to fill the online application carefully, as no request for alteration/modification of entries will be entertained after submission.
- In case of multiple applications by the same candidate, only the last submitted application will be considered; earlier applications will be rejected.
- Any dispute regarding the recruitment shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.
- The number, category, and recruitment mode of posts may increase, decrease, or change, and IHMCL reserves the right not to fill some or all posts.
- Candidates must not furnish false, tampered, or fabricated particulars, or suppress material information.
- All selected candidates must execute a Service Bond of Rs. 3.00 lakh at the time of joining, for serving IHMCL for a minimum period of 3 years. If a candidate resigns before the bond period expires, or their service is terminated due to misconduct within three years, they must deposit Rs. 3.0 lakh to IHMCL. IHMCL does not entertain transfer of service bonds for selected candidates working in other organizations.
