GPSC DV 2026 – Candidate Shortlisting Norms (Vacancy-Wise Ratio)
GPSC follows a structured, transparent ratio for determining how many candidates are called for document verification and personal interview per vacancy. These norms are as per the GPSC office order dated 25 November 2025.
| Number of Vacancies | DV-Eligible Candidates (Without Experience Posts) | DV-Eligible Candidates (With Experience Posts) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 | 16 |
| 2 | 22 | 25 |
| 3 or more | 4× vacancies OR 25 (whichever is higher) | 6× vacancies OR 32 (whichever is higher) |
What Happens After Document Verification – Next Steps
Candidates who clear the document verification stage will move on to the personal interview round. Here is what the overall selection pipeline looks like after DV.
- Step 2 – Personal Interview (Face-to-Face Interview):Â Candidates who pass document verification are called for a personal interview. The shortlist for interviews will be published on the GPSC notice board after scrutiny is complete.
- Step 3 – Final Merit List: The final selection is based on a combined merit – 50% weightage from Preliminary Examination marks and 50% weightage from Personal Interview marks, as per GPSC’s office order effective 01 August 2016.
Provisional Extension of DV List
If the current 260 shortlisted candidates do not yield sufficient interview-eligible candidates, GPSC may – on a provisional basis – extend the DV list by including candidates above the minimum qualifying threshold as fixed by office orders dated 04 July 2025 and 17 September 2025. Candidates with marks equal to the last candidate in a category will also be included, which could increase the total count.
Reservation Policy for Divyang (PwD) Candidates
GPSC has made specific provisions for Persons with Disabilities (Divyang) in this recruitment, and these have been applied during the preparation of the DV-eligible candidates list.
