APSSB CHSLE Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of two stages – a written examination (Stage I) and a Skill Test (Stage II). Not all posts require both stages:

  • All questions are objective type multiple choice.
  • No negative marking.
  • Candidates must score a minimum of 33% in aggregate to qualify. Those scoring below 33% are ineligible for selection.
  • There are no sectional cut-offs.
  • Stage II (Skill Test) is qualifying in nature only – marks will not be added to the final merit list.

Syllabus – Brief Overview

  • General Awareness (50 marks): Current events, History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/International Organisations. State-specific questions may also be asked.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks): Analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical reasoning, number series, abstract ideas, analytical functions.
  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability (50 marks): Number Systems, Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs.
  • English Language & Comprehension (50 marks): Error spotting, Fill in the blanks, Synonyms, Antonyms, Spelling errors, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Sentence improvement, Active/Passive voice, Direct/Indirect narration, Cloze passage, Comprehension.

Stage II – Skill Test

Applicable to Post Codes 17/26 (DEO), 20/26 (JSA), and 22/26 (LDC). The Skill Test is qualifying only – it does not carry marks for merit ranking. Tentative date: 10 October 2026 (Saturday) onwards.

How to Apply for APSSB CHSLE 2026

Step 1: Visit the official APSSB website at www.apssb.nic.in and navigate to the CHSLE 2026 online application link (active from 20 July 2026).

Step 2: Register with your basic details and create a login. First-time applicants must complete the registration process before accessing the application form.

Step 3: Fill in the online application form carefully. Enter all personal details, educational qualifications, category, and post preference. Candidates must clearly indicate their preference of post and department – preference once submitted is final and cannot be changed.

Step 4: Upload the following scanned documents:

  • Passport size photograph (50-100 KB, JPG/JPEG/PNG)
  • Signature on white paper with black ink pen (10-50 KB, JPG/JPEG/PNG)

Step 5: Pay the examination fee online (₹150 for APST / ₹200 for UR). PwD candidates are exempted.

Step 6: Submit the application before 10 August 2026 (5:00 PM). Application details cannot be edited after the closing date. Take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.

Important: If an applicant submits multiple forms for the same post, only the latest application will be considered. Incomplete applications or those filled with wrong/irrelevant information will be summarily rejected.

Documents Required for Document Verification (Shortlisted Candidates)

  • Recent passport-size photograph (2 copies)
  • Matriculation certificate (proof of date of birth)

  • Permanent Resident Certificate (if applicable)
  • Diploma in Computer Application certificate (AICTE recognised) – for Post Codes 17/26, 20/26, 22/26, 23/26
  • Intimation letter to HoD (for candidates in regular government service)
  • PwBD certificate (if applying under PwD quota)
  • Discharge book and Pay & Pension Order (PPO) issued by competent authority (for Ex-Servicemen)

Note: Information contained in attached certificates will not be considered unless it is also claimed in the application form. Originals and self-attested photocopies of all documents must be produced at the time of Document Verification. No additional time will be given for production of documents.

APSSB CHSLE Salary 2026 – Pay Scale

In addition to basic pay, candidates will be entitled to DA, HRA, and other allowances as applicable under Government of Arunachal Pradesh rules.

Important Instructions

  • Candidature is purely provisional at all stages. The Board can cancel it at any stage if eligibility conditions are not met.
  • Candidates must carry a valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License/PAN Card) along with the admit card to the examination centre. Details on ID must match the admit card.
  • Post and department preference indicated during application is final and cannot be changed. Merit list will be prepared based on the preference order.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of answer scripts.
  • Electronic gadgets (calculators, mobile phones, laptops, smart watches etc.) are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Individual admit cards will not be sent by post. Candidates must download them from www.apssb.nic.in.
  • APST = Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe; PRC = Permanent Resident Certificate; UR = Unreserved.
  • The Board reserves the right to cancel/modify/withdraw any post, question, or the entire examination process without prior notice.
